Event: Environmental Effects of Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials: 2010
When: August 22-26, 2010
Synopsis: Nano 2010 will provide a venue for presentation and discussion of current research on these issues. The interdisciplinary mix of environmental scientists, toxicologists, material scientists, and engineers should provide for a robust discussion in a creative atmosphere. This meeting is the fifth annual international meeting on this topic following the success of previous meetings held in the United Kingdom and, most recently, Nano 2009 held in Vienna.
Location: Conference Center and Inn at Clemson University located on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, SC
Cost: $590 Before July 1; Until August 15 $690; Onsite $790 - Students: $300 Before July 1; Until August 15 $400; Onsite $500

Event: Manufactured Nanomaterials: Europe and North America Forecast
When: September 1, 2010
Synopsis: In the United States, new chemical reform legislation in Congress has a "nano-clause". Europe is already addressing nanoscale commercial products through REACH. Health Canada and the European Commission are seeking to define the term "nanomaterial". Is there any attempt at coordination and is harmonization a realistic objective? Hear the views from both sides of the Pond in this second installment in the 2010 Nanotechnology Today webinar series.
Location: Webinar
Cost: $145; $495 for series of 4 webinars

Event: Environmental Applications of Nanotechnology: Going Green
When: October 6, 2010
Synopsis: The concept of "Green Nano" is our ability to design industrial processes and everyday products with the protection of human health and the environment in the forefront of the design phase. It describes the development of products that have environmental applications. This webinar will address how to design "green" products and showcase technologies that show promise for environmentally beneficial applications, such as environmental clean up, water purification, and energy efficiency. Hear from two of the leading experts in the area of Green Nano and find out how integration of these approaches can benefit your business.
